Featured on The Storque (Again!)

I've been getting some lovely press lately, and just wanted to share that I've been featured in The Storque on Etsy again.

This time it was my Lovely Lacy Legwarmers for Girls and Tweens with Flowers in Wine Red and Leaf Green

I'm going to have to say that I think my beautiful daughter has something to do with all the feature-love I've been receiving. She is a lovely girl and a fantastic model.

Just look how adorable she makes these legwarmers look!

Thank you so much, everyone, for helping make my shop a success. I can see that it's going to be a rewarding climb to the top.

Later tonight I should be blogging about my first attempt at painting some wine glasses. Hopefully the pictures turned out.

Oh! I almost forgot. Read The Storque article, Etsy Finds: Warm My Heart, where I was featured. Thanks!

Give Away Winner's Choice

Staci J, the winner of my very first give away, hosted by the lovely ladies of Little Birdie Secrets, chose my Black Leather and Hot Pink Silk Rose Fascinator as her prize!

I'm so excited to be shipping this out to her. Stay tuned for more opportunities to win.

Don't forget to follow me on my Twitter, and to become a fan on Facebook for exclusive content and give aways!

Today's Give Away: Flirty Aprons

I know, I've been blogging a lot about Today's Give Away, but who can blame me? They've been having some really fantastic give away's that I would just love to win and blogging them gives me more chances to win. I'm a greedy pirate, it's true, but I'm okay with that.

This give away is one that I actually need. I suppose I don't need a completely adorable $30 apron, but I do need an apron, and why not a sexy, flirty one?

Which brings me to Flirty Aprons. The winner of their give away will receive an apron of their choice! That is just so great, because I want this one.

They're just so beautifully made, and I'm really into the whole double-layered fabric thing. Sometimes cleaning up and cooking for the kids destroys my clothes, and I really don't have enough decent outfits to be changing my clothes repeatedly during the day.

So go check it out. I've won a few different give aways on Today's Give Away and would love to win another, but I guess you deserve a shot too.

Winners, Features, and Good Times All Around

I'm pleased to announce that the winner of the first ever Thoris Designs giveaway, hosted by the lovely ladies over at Little Birdie Secrets is Staci J!

Staci seems to be experiencing a run of great luck lately, and has won a number of giveaways, but mine is the latest. She even ran a sweet little entry about her win on her blog. She's got a beautiful family and I'm so glad that whatever item she chooses as her prize will go to a great new home.

More good news! I just got a convo from my Etsy store that my Black Leather and Hot Pink Silk Hair Clip with Black Velvet Tulle and Feathers Rose Fascinator was featured on the awesome fashion blog Chateau Bizarre.

All this coverage is really, really exciting for me. I feel great being able to see the return on all the hours of hard work I've been putting into promoting my business. One step closer to being the career-at-home mom I want to be. Being able to incorporate my kids into my job is amazing.

Thank you, everyone, for everything. It means a lot.

Julie & Julia: When Movies and Cooking Collide

This isn't a blog about the rest of my "normal" life, or about movies (which I also love, but only watch while I'm knitting these days), but it is a blog about crafting and cooking, and viola! two of my loves have collided in the new (new to me, because I have neither the time nor the money to go see a movie at the cinema) movie Julie & Julia, starring the superbly talented Meryl Streep and one of my favorite new actresses, Amy Adams (isn't she adorable?).

I loved this movie. Really. So much that I had to blog that I loved it. What an inspiration to all of us out there, struggling to realize a dream that we may have given up on. And the food! Oh, the food! I'm so hungry right now! I've never read Julia Child's cook book, but I've always loved seeing her on television and have always meant to pick up a copy of her book. Now I must do it.

Obviously, blogging my adventures with Julia's cookbook is out of the question (great idea done already), but once I get the book I'll be sure to share how much fun I'm having with it. Mmm. Butter.

PS - Aren't I clever? I just found the original blog that started it all, created a nifty little button, and linked right up to the first entry. I've been too poor to buy a new book to read for months; now I'll have something to pick up and read. How fun.

New Dino Hat Listed

I got the chance to make one of my adorable dino hats with crochet eyes instead of the usual polymer sculpted ones. The Dark Sage Green and rich Chocolate Brown look great together! And doesn't my litle X-man make a great model?
